So yea Bungie is now saying that instead of gracing us with the beta this sunday, it might be later. here is some news:

Okay, so everyone knew Halo 3 would arrive this fall, but Bungie's finally confirmed the third (and seemingly final, at least for this storyline) entry in the Halo series will be available in fall 2007. The news springs from the first of likely many marketing promotions planned for the game.
There's some sadface.gif to go along with this news, however, as Bungie's started indicating the beta may be pushed back a bit. Still hitting in the spring, mind you, but now they're saying it could be "late spring."

"There are still many details of the Halo 3 beta to be finalized but one thing we did want to confirm is that the beta will not be starting next week. Crackdown will be available in stores starting Tuesday, 2/20, but the Halo 3 multiplayer beta start date is still being finalized. We're still aiming for a Spring release, but it could be more like late Spring."

Gridlock Strategy

ALRIGHT. SO. 4v4. The map is symmetrical. Without any weapon swaps, there are hammerbursts up stairs closest to spawn points, a sniper in the middle stairs, and a boomshot under the middle belltower. Now, judging by individual player strengths, you will want to haver certain teammates assigned to certain weapons and posts. Determine who is skilled with the sniper and who is resourceful with sharp reflexes for the 2 rockets in the boomshot. You should send two potential snipers to the center building to retrieve the sniper. Send two, because that is the most popular weapon spawn in the map and you are about 75% guaranteed to meet up with members of the opposing team. You will want a capable pair, and if you both shoot at the same time pumping bullets with a lancer, the opponent is sure to go down. Also, from that location, you have a good view of the rest of the map for spotting other potential targets. I would go up the stairs to this building cautiously with either a lancer or (if you are so inclined) a pistol. You want to down the opponents here from a little bit of a distance, because here you have the ability to get them down and take them out easily. It is much safer than running in, hoping for an instant kill with a lucky shotgun blast. When in doubt, roll back down the stairs and take refuge behind some of the boxes set up. You can also use those boxes advantageously to move safely to the stairs or some sniper strategy. ANOTHER GOOD IDEA: send one around the front grenade side to flank them or attack from their behind. You can pick up the grenades while doing this, but that could alert them to your presence. WARNING: Two teammates staying in this building close to eachother run the risk of getting hit with a double-killing boomshot rocket or grenade. BE CAUTIOUS.
Now, to the other two players who have taken the alternate paths. The hammerburst in the side buildings are oddly placed and not very useful from those locations. Hammerbursts are good if you want fast downs, but not great long range. Usually a host will swap this for a torque or sniper. This person may want to stick with the person going to the boom. The boom is a tricky spot, because like the sniper, both teams have an equal shot at getting to it. Usually skirmishes can happen here over the who gets the boom, but there are some cars set for cover here. TIPS FOR BOOM: keep in cover, only shoot when you are certain (it comes with 2 rockets), know when to switch weapons, make sure you don't kill yourself.

Keep in mind that this is a big level and you are not always bound to kill someone if you run around on the asphalt with your shotgun, going from car to car. Fight strategically.

With the beta in Spring, and the eventual Fall release, we will need all the training we can put in.

Halo 2 (I mean come on)

Crackdown (once we all find our testicles and actually purchase it. and the multiplayer is not competitive, it is cooperative... so uh i dont know. BUT HALO 3 BETA, MAN!)

GRAW2 (but chris still seems to be the only one who owns it. or GRAW 1 for that matter)


Hmm I don't know. Any online competitive game i suppose. I'm pulling for more Halo2 matches and more possible members for the Frozen Throne group. BUT I dont really see that one happening haha (10 members!?). We could still have fun as a group even without the title of an official clan, though!

Hooah.

So yea. Now that a whole bunch of people play Gears of War, I think it's time we made ourselves a group. So I have decided to make the executive decision of expanding Green Squall from a 4-person team to an ever-growing clan of members. I still need to look into particulars and such, and we could even grow to play together in games outside of Gears. But those four originals in the signature in the below post are the founders. And, since I named the team, I have decided to grant myself the title of Grand Master Epic Puba. Henry, you're still General McSweeney. :-)

Anywho, I am also in charge of recruiting (even though any members can recruit anyone, I just like to feel like the supervisor of something)
SO if you feel the urge to join the fight, comment with your gamertag, even though I already know all of the GTs of small amount of people who read this blog.

ANYWHO, my congratulations go out to ScareGold and Row Your Boat, the two newest additions to the Green Squall family. They have displayed superior excellence in the field of... uh... kicking other people's asses. Plus I know them. SO THEY MADE IT!
