GTA IV Delayed until 2008
Well according to Take Two the "dual platform development" of GTA4 has slowed production times and today they have announced that they will delay the game's shipment until Q2 2008 (which starts Feb. 1 2008).
"Certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected, especially given the commitment for a simultaneous release on two very different platforms," -Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick
Well from reading some forums, I've heard it has something to do with either the PS3's cell processor or the blu-ray disc.

The PS3 caused the delay? Sounds like a brand spankin' new anti-Sony campaign.
I actually doubt that's true though. Sure, the diode and the cell have caused their fair share of problems, but looking at some of the stuff from E3 it seems like developers have pretty much figured out the hardware's quirks.
My guess is the game didn't quite have that level of polish that is so important to the GTA series. Either way, a delay just means a better game.
